In the 1990s Amada Cutting Technologies and Gateway  formed an alliance. This relationship allowed Gateway to not only contract weld saw blades for Amada Cutting Technologies Distributors/Dealers, but also permitted Gateway to become a saw blade Distributor and develop their own customer base.

BANDSAW BLADE WELDING IS OUR SPECIALTY

Sometimes the old way of doing things is the best way. With close to 40 years of welding experience we still feel that our welds are equal - if not superior to a factory weld. Our process and steps in welding a saw blade are time consuming. But this is the right way and the Gateway.

In the beginning - 'Our History'

       BANDSAW  BLADES by GATEWAY          1-800-325-1091

The present - almost 40 years later. Gateway is now a full service bandsaw blade supplier. We have grown as our customers have grown. Welding of saw blades is still our core business and what we do best. However, we now inventory and weld multiple lines of coil stock from the United States, Europe and Asia.

Our in house inventory and welding gives us direct control of production. This in turn enables our customers and distributors the ability to get a quality blade at a competitive price in a timely manner.

In 1978 Gateway's welders sparked for the first time as a contract welding center for American Saw and Mfg. (also known as Lenox).  Lenox and Gateway formed a working agreement that enabled Lenox's Midwestern distributors and dealers the ability to receive their product in a timely manner due to Gateways central location and welding expertise. Lenox would ship coils of their material from the East Coast factory to  St Louis Missouri for Gateway to convert  (cut to length and weld) into bandsaw blades for their  customers. Strict weld standards and a zero weld failure rate were implemented and adhered to through ongoing weld sample analysis and training.

couple million welds  and 15 years later - Gateway was dubbed 'home of the bullet proof weld'.
