Step 7

Welds  are checked  for proper camber and alignment.

Note: Most production welders consider this step optional and time consuming.

Weld flash is ground from the weld with specific attention to the tooth contour in the gullet area

Blade stock is butt flash welded by Gateway's shop     then annealed to the appropriate Rockwell hardness

A precision power shear cuts the coil stock to the blade length with strict attention to tooth spacing

Step 6

BANDSAW BLADES by GATEWAY  1-800-325-1091

NOT ALL WELDS ARE CREATED EQUALLY

Every weld is  bend/stress  tested and inspected under magnification. Note: Most production welders consider this step optional and time consuming.

Step 1

No matter how good the saw blade cuts - if it fails at the weld its worthless.  We still use the same  production steps in our welds that we incorporated  40 years ago.  Each production step is integral to the performance and  longevity of the bandsaw blade we put into service.

Step 5

All Bimetal welds are grit blasted to smooth out the micro abrasions for better performance. Note: Most production welders eliminated this step completely.

This is how it starts - master coil is inventoried in multiple widths and tooth configurations

Step 2

THIS IS HOW WE WELD IT

The finished welded band coiled and ready to ship. All  blades are coiled to help reduce shipping costs .
